About Qigong
Qigong is a mind body practice of cultivating and working with the life force of the body. The word “Qi” translates to energy, and “Gong” to cultivation. There are many styles of Qigong all incorporating specific postures, breathing and intentions.
Energetic imbalances occur due to improper exercise, stress, poor diet and eating habits, along with physical and emotional trauma, longstanding emotional suppression and unhealthy belief systems. These become sources of stagnation and obstruction which affect the organs and organ systems by interrupting the free flow of qi throughout the body. Qigong practices encourage the smooth flow of qi, allowing blockages to release and organs to strengthen. The specific movements and mediations are valuable to the health of one’s organs, meridians - the channels through which qi flows-, nervous system, circulatory system and mental state. Further, the exercises incorporate and help establish emotional harmony, empowering us to work towards peace and tranquility in daily living.
Centered Heart Qigong utilizes Medical Qigong exercises and treatment methods to purge - cleanse the body of turbid and stagnant qi, t0 tonify - strengthen and support systems by bringing in fresh qi, and to regulate - circulate and balance the yin and yang energies throughout.
